Kowhai Kids In-Home care believes that the first years of a child’s life are the time of most rapid learning and development. Our educarer's aim to provide developmentally appropriately learning experiences for each child in a positive environment where the child feels supported and valued. We work closely in partnership with parents.

We believe that the experience of play enables children to discover how friendships are made; stimulates them to find language and enables them to develop the skills they need to support them in tackling the complexities of the world. In a stimulating learning environment children learn to be independent and confident individuals who have the opportunity to realise their full learning potential.

In the warm, welcoming homes of our carefully selected educarers, children are encouraged to learn and grow at their own pace. We value children’s self-esteem and promote positive reinforcement. All children are treated equally, respecting their cultures, beliefs and values, all children have a sense of belonging. Our education programme is based on Te Whaariki, upholds the Treaty of Waitangi and encourages Te Reo.
